From the Lego Movie 2 set comes Benny's Space Squad. Released last December 2018, it's a movie theme set at the same time it's also a space theme set, awesome.
And here we have the back of the box where the name of Benny's squad is revealed. Also, I think Benny broke the droid's arm. Oh no!
We have the instruction manual.
On the first page we can see how to build Benny.
Last page shows the reference for all the brick parts used in the set.
Benny with his squad. (L-R) Kenny, Benny, Lenny and Jenny.
The squad's left side view.
And the right side view.
Rear view.
Only Benny has an alternate face.
Something's wrong with mission control...
Here's the droid with arms still intact.
Rear view of the droid.
Left side view of the droid.
Right side view of the droid.
The very basic, but very classic Moon Rover with yellow headlights. This rover can seat two spacemen.
Left side view of the rover.
Right side view.
Rear view of the rover. We can see the engineer's wrench and the metal detector attached at the back.
Here's Benny favorite, the Spaceship, quietly parked on my table top.
Left side of the ship.
Right side of the ship.
Rear of the ship.
Top view. Very basic and yet so classic. Lazer blasters in front, the Lego Space logo, steering wheel, boosters, a radio antennae, red signal lights, all on top of a basic triangle wing, very 80's looking.
Seats one spaceman.
Enemies on radar, pew pew pew-ppppew-pew-pew-pew!
The excess parts from the set.
Benny and his Squad, ready for action and play. A very basic set and yet so classic. That's what I really like about it. It brings nostalgia, that same, good o'le feeling of building a basic Lego Space set like the way it was in the 80's. What is your favorite Lego theme?
